Today is January 3rd, it's Monday and not only the first Monday of the month but also of our new year 2011. We as a family have decided to have a common resolution this year, we are going to work on changing our lifestyle completely. How you may ask, we are going to switch to a healthier diet as well a more balanced inner self. You can't have one without the other!
I know so many magazines, Doctors, websites are suggesting you detoxify your home by throwing out everything that is processed and start fresh... well here is where the balance comes, why not finish what you have in your pantry, refrigerator, kitchen and take it one step at a time? When doing a "crash diet" we get rid of all high-fat, high-sodium, high-calorie foods and then when we reach our goal easily fall off the bandwagon. So why not take it slowly, a little step everyday and this time do it consciously?
For example, yesterday evening I decided to bring out all the cookbooks we own and go through some recipes. This tackles two different goals at the same time: a) try something new and b) plan our meals for the week. As a result I took inventory of what we had at home and only purchased the ingredients we were missing. So tomorrow we will try a chicken and pine nuts with saffron couscous and lemon dressing dish. Will let you know how it turns out... hopefully delicious! will also post recipe as soon as I try it.
