Spring Break, yes I know it is still winter but have you noticed that today is the last day in the month of February? and that could only mean one thing, 21 days until spring! and about 6 weeks until kids our out of school and you are left to find what to do without breaking the bank! why not plan ahead of time? Specially when living in San Diego! There are lots of activities to choose from:
- Make it a fun filled day with an outdoor activity: Ride bikes in Coronado Island, the distance in total from Glorietta Bay Park is 7 miles. As you reach the Coronado Ferry Landing area why not buy some sandwiches or meals and take them to Glorietta Bay Park and enjoy as a picnic. - Learn about sea life: The Birch Aquarium is the perfect place to spend the day at, you will learn and interact with their exhibits. The view is breathtaking and check the schedule for feedings to watch a diver get into a tank and feed the fish, it is very fun. For more information visit their website here
- Meet some future and past Olympians: Chula Vista has an Olympic Training Center that is free to tour. For more information visit their website here
- Take the trolley: It is fun and saves you the hassle of looking for parking in the downtown area, make sure you stop at the New Children's Museum. It is the perfect interactive space for kids of all ages. They will learn crafts and be able to touch most if not all the exhibits. - Seaport Village: Take a bike ride along the sea at Seaport Village and enjoy a picnic on the grass while watching the boats go by. After your picnic make sure you take a ride on the carousel and enjoy some ice cream. For more information click here
- Puppets anyone? Balboa Park has the wonderful Mary Hitchcock Puppet Theatre where you may enjoy a wonderful play using puppets, marionettes, etc. to recreate stories that are chosen every week. For more information visit their website here
