Last Friday our 16 months old son and I embarked on a very exciting adventure! We took the Metropolitan Transit System {MTS} Trolley System from the South Bay area to the Downtown area. To be exact we ended our Trolley ride at the Santa Fe Depot a.k.a Amtrak Station in San Diego, then we walked towards the San Diego Port and walked all the way to Seaport Village while enjoying the view and breeze of the ocean, seagulls flying around and boats floating in the water.
We enjoyed a great lunch at the Greek Islands Restaurant -that was enough for both of us, while watching boats sail by and the Coronado bridge. We walked around all the little shops and listened to some great live jazz while eating ice cream. By then we were ready to head home and began our walk back.
This was a great day filled with fun, smiles, sun and most importantly quality time!
If you decide to take this little trip or adventure make sure you review the trolley route and take the correct trolley (we almost ended up in El Cajon!). Trolley is free for 5 and under Monday - Friday. The one way trolley trip is only $2.50 or you can get an all day pass for $5.00 per person. Seniors 62+ only pay $1.75
Make sure you check the weather and trolley schedules. Have fun and enjoy!!!
