San Diego County Fair...

I felt this event that happens every summer in San Diego, needed it's own post! It doesn't matter if you are local or from out of town, the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar fairgrounds is always exciting. Each year there is a theme and this year's is one of my favorites: Race To The Fair.

What makes this year special for little ones is that June 11- June 12, because of the theme and the movie "Cars 2" -coming out later this month- there will be three characters from the new movie at the fair.

Also Aric Almirola Nascar Racer will be here on June 21 for interview from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and then there will be an autograph session from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

You will have your usual "Heart Attack Cafe" which is now known as "Deep Fried Butter Stand" with their usual deep fried Twinkies, chocolate covered corn dog and much more! New this year and from Hollywood Pink's with their very famous hot dogs! yum!!! and much more...

Friday June 10th - Monday July 4th (Closed three Mondays: 13, 20 & 27)

Parking Fee:

$10.00 / vehicle

Admission:

Adults	$13.00
Ages 62 and older	$7.00
Ages 6-12	$7.00
Ages 5 and younger	Free

Cash and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) are accepted for admission, ride and concert tickets. Some food and vendor booths also accept credit cards. ATM machines are available throughout the Fair.

Times:

Admission gates open: 11:00AM, weekdays. 10:00AM Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, July 4
Admission gates close: 11:00PM Friday and Saturday; 10:00PM other nights
Grounds close: Approximately midnight Friday and Saturday; approximately 11:00PM other nights.
Exhibit and Shopping Buildings and exhibits open: 11:00AM, weekdays 10:00AM Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, July 4
There are some promotional days that could save you some money:
Tuesday, June 14:

$3.00 Tuesday. Fair admission for just $3.00. Tickets available ONLY at Albertsons|Sav-on locations, starting in early May.

Tuesdays:

Kids' Day (kids 12 and younger admitted free) and Taste of the Fair Tuesday (taster portions for $2.00 at most food booths)

Wednesdays:

Pepsi Pay-One-Price Ride Day
Thursdays:

Pepsi Pay-One-Price Ride Day

Fridays:

PennySaver Value Day (coupon book with Fair savings)
