Staying focused one month after

It's been a month, a very productive month if I may say so. A month since I first announced that I was chosen to be part of team #Cinchspiration and lose weight naturally with Shaklee Corporation and 49 other bloggers.

To say I feel amazing is an understatement, you see last week we took off and enjoyed visiting beautiful Ensenada Baja Mexico. We drove from the Bay Area straight to our final destination, oh yes we did! ten and a half hours and with Adventure Boy and Girl in tow. We packed up our car and off we went.

While packing the day before there was something different, a BIG change in me and my perspective. Usually when traveling to Ensenada I mentally plan what I will eat, how I will over-indulge while there. Oh yes, I have a mental list... it goes like this:

Raspado {Mexican Snow Cone}

Tostilocos or Churros Locos {these are one of my most favorite snacks of course heartburn is terrible after}

Empanadas

Tostitos with nacho cheese

And the list can go on and on. However on this particular trip, all I could think of was packing my workout clothes. Packing my tennis shoes and where I would workout, how would I eat healthy while not feeling stressed about it.

To me losing weight naturally has to be stress free. We have always snacked and made poor choices while driving on the road to our adventures, but this trip I would not do that. So I planned ahead... How did I plan ahead? Easy, I bought cheese sticks and baby carrots. I also had some walnuts with me and of course my water bottle.

Off we went and I was snacking away on carrots and only ate one cheese stick. When we stopped for dinner it was a bit of a challenge considering there weren't any non-fast food places to eat from, so I thought out every single menu item {yes I know all the options at every single place} and decided to have some healthy tacos made up of grilled chicken and a diet soft drink. Surprisingly I did not crave any chips, no chocolates or candies. I was at one point at the gas station and looked around for about 10 minutes and nothing... not one single item appealed to me!

I was honestly surprised at myself... and that is exactly when I knew. When I knew my mindset has changed and I was choosing my health over my cravings. My handwork for month one paying off. Did I have my snacks while in Baja? Again surprisingly I did not. I did allow myself to eat home made meals like "enchiladas suizas" and I did eat one tamale. But that was it.

Then while searching for a top to wear on one of our last days there I found this:

My 'trophy dress' and that reminded me of staying focused and keeping my eye on the ball {at all times} yes it is true, I am staying inspired and motivated because how else would I manage to do this? How else would I have decided to start cinching it  and continue with my personal goals.

As of today I have lost 10.6 lbs!

That my friends is a major accomplishment for me, one that I am very proud to share with you and hope to continue to add to the loss.

I am very grateful to Shaklee for choosing me to participate and supporting me and team Cinchspiration with all the necessary tools. Are you ready to continue on this journey with me? Because I am ready, I am so ready to see another 10 lbs come down and see a very different number on the scale.

Thank you for your continued support, because your comments, mentions and e-mails keep me inspired.

    1. Jackie, isn't it great? I mean before I would be wondering what more can I get in a sense where I wanted to buy the entire store. Now it's water or nothing at all. *happy dancing* for you too! :)

    1. Jamie that would be awesome, but I have to be realistic and with the weight I've lost I am still about 95 lbs away from wearing that dress :) so I am closer.. :) maybe next summer??? we shall see :)

    3. We should, but I am trying to keep it as stress free as possible :) When I have put pressure on myself I have stopped doing whatever it is I am doing. It took me 12 years to get here so if it takes me 2 years to lose it all I am ok with that, I am changing my mindset and re-learning new habits. Habits I've had for 12 straight years it still is a challenge as easy as it may seem, sometimes I have to double think what I put into my mouth or what I plan on eating for the day. :D I am growing with this change and so is my family, they are eating healthier and it is a lifestyle different to what we had :) I truly appreciate all your support Jamie, you are awesome for motivating and inspiring me to keep this going! I love that! :D thank you!

  6. I had a similar moment while traveling last month. All my usual plane "snacks" held no appeal at all.
    Good for you for sticking to it and doing so well!!
