Work In Progress

I am truly a work in progress and since I joined team Cinchspiration I have been working on getting to better health. It all began with a very personal goal, one that only I could reach and only I can work to reach it and it continued with looking at some pictures reminiscing about my trophy dress and pants then it was time to start Cinching it and for all this I first had re-evaluate how I felt and how my weight was impacting my life.

In these past seven weeks I've had to keep my eye on the ball even if it has been a challenge at times and staying focused while on vacation represented one of the hardest challenges of all. However all this has taught me so much about myself, about what I expect from this program and what I am willing to do to accomplish my goal.

Goal being of course to get healthier, to lose weight and to make healthier choices being active. Something I have not been consistent with the past couple of years. This past week was my most active week, something I am very proud of! So proud that it shows, my confidence has always been there but this past week has escalated to a higher level that I have not seen in at least eight years!

I am going to be honest with you, because honesty is key for me this past week I've learned the most valuable lessons and I'd like share them with you:

First of all I for some reason went back to old habits for a couple of days, my old habit being not drinking enough fluids. That is a big NO NO, not only when you are losing weight but also for our bodies. It was only 2 days yet my body felt deprived, it felt weak, it felt tired and my moods were off key. I also had headaches, being it is summer this was not a good idea and I don't suggest to try this out. But I lived for the past 8 years depriving my body of drinking enough water and since starting with team Cinchspiration I have been drinking at least 6-8 glasses of water a day... So this was terribly for my now well hydrated body.

I thought {wrongly} that if I held off the water I would lose more weight, well that is completely wrong!

Secondly I weighed myself every other day and sometimes everyday! HUGE mistake! this was an epic fail because each day my weight would fluctuate and sometimes it would reflect a weight gain which would make me sad the rest of the day. This for some reason I thought would be more motivating, but it was not. The most important lesson I've learned this week is:

keeping a journal,

this has helped me tremendously because I have gone over my allowed amount of calories per day. I am on a 1,290 calories per day this due to my amount of activity, if I were more active I would probably get more calories but this is enough for me. Keeping a journal also lets me pour out my heart and soul whenever I feel to vent or reflect on what I am doing. Remember I was in the wrong path {weight gain mode} for 11 years, so this is challenging for me.

I was honestly avoiding using a treadmill in a gym, because I wanted to walk outdoors enjoy a change of scenery and enjoy some good fresh air WELL this week I decided to go to a gym and use the treadmill and in all honesty I am loving it!

Using a treadmill makes me sweat more

It keeps me at the same pace and if I choose a workout program with hills and inclines I sweat more in those 30 minutes than I have when I am walking outdoors. I still will continue to walk outside of the gym, but now I am going to combine both alternating during the week  :D

That said I want to share with you my pride and joy, this is the result of hard work. Yes I am using Shaklee's Cinch Products to lose weight and gain muscle, but it is only a tool. I have to do all the work, you do all the work by making good healthy meal choices and being active. Also changing your mindset is vital.

  1. Way to go!!! I have a treadmill and I avoid it too..... Outside is so much more enjoyable but all too soon it'll be cold and I won't be able to get outside.

    1. That is why I decided to give it a try. I suffer from sinus and seasonal allergies so walking outside in winter is out of the question for me. This would allow me to continue working out which I am finding I like :)

  4. Hey I seen a comment on ElleSees glitter ombre nails post asking about how you can get glitter off easily. I was going to comment there but I figured you might not see it so I thought I would check out your blog too. :)

If you take a cotton round (they work so much better than botton balls, IMO) and just kind of leave it sitting on your nails for a few minutes it really helps to get the glitter off compared to scrubbing back and forth. Some people use the foil trick but that's just to much work for me, you can dip your fingers in acetone (poured into a separate cup) and let them sit a bit as well.

    Congrats on your weight loss!

    xoxo,
    Melissa

  8. I do the same thing with water and weighing. I had to limit myself two Wednesdays (and when I just can't stand it.) Love the journal idea. Haven't been doing that.

    1. It's hard isn't it Melanie? I was doing mine on Wednesdays too, then switched to Saturdays now I don't know which is my weigh in day since I was doing it everyday! :( The journal idea came from having random thoughts while grocery shopping, I would write on anything I could get my hands on {even receipts!} so now I have a notebook for it. :D It helps a lot!

    1. Aw thank you Sommer... I have to be honest and held accountable for my choices... the scale and measurements will not lie so I can't lie to myself. I know when I've been on track and when I haven't been. Logging all I eat, drink, exercise on my cinch page is also very helpful. Just today I decided to confirm what I already knew... Carbs are my weakness!!! and I know 30% of it is cinch products and fruits, but what about the rest?? So I need to get my butt in gear and fix that ASAP! specially after the results I am seeing! :D Thank you reading my post and checking out my video. I need new videos but can't do them with the kids around haha ;)
