A day to think, reflect and be positive

Today is New Year's Eve 2012, many are writing down their 2013 resolutions. Others are hoping for a better, more successful new year and then there are some who are thinking of all that happened in this past year... the good, the bad and the ugly.

I strongly believe that our mind is powerful, whatever we think about and feel passionate about we will make it happen. Sometimes destiny comes in at the right moment, other times we feel it was at the worst moment.

Each and every New Year I hear complaints of how the year was, others simply are overjoyed about how great the year was for them. I have been thinking about this for the past 7 years and have come to the conclusion that there are no bad years. I may seem very optimistic about it, however I am more realistic and what happens is I take a moment to think about it all. Every single decision that was made this year and every single moment of the year, I focus on the positive on all the changes and realize that it is all good.

You see even if something did not work out at first, in the end it did! Like the year the housing market dropped and it lead to financial struggles. That year we had a very special blessing -Adventure Boy arrived. We also had good health and we had our family. We enjoyed spending time together and found ways to make it work and fun.

So as we bid farewell to 2012 and I know it was a challenging year for some, I also know there is something to celebrate this year.

You are here,

You are healthy,

You have someone to celebrate it with,

You have somewhere to sleep,

You have food to eat,

You have a job

All of the above and more make each and every year a great year. Just change your perspective and begin to appreciate, value and celebrate the basics....

I wish you a great 2013, full of countless blessings and above all health to enjoy them!

Happy New Year, cheers!

  1. Although I will be the first to whine about what went wrong (I admit it!)I am also aware that I have a bazillion blessings in my life. I enjoyed many in 2012, and expect many more in the year to come.
