Word of the year!

I've been reading about how much more helpful it is to choose a word that represents the year, that way you can stay on track and work on all that the word may relate to. I can sometimes be a little obsessive about minor things, I don't consider myself a perfectionist but sometimes I pressure myself to strive for excellence. Worst part? I sometimes expect the same from others, I will sweat the small stuff and not see the bigger picture.

That is the reason why this year I have decided to use a theme word to represent my 2013. This year is coming to my family with many changes, all of them are good changes and exciting new adventures. Still I feel that my word is a reminder to myself to sit back and enjoy the ride!

My word for 2013 is:

R E L A X !

I don't mean to do just sit there and let it all go, but I do mean to be a little more open and not stress the small stuff. For example I didn't get something done at home that is not vital, I will not fret or worry about not getting it done. There is always tomorrow. Another great example is if playing with my kids took over and there are dishes to be washed they can certainly wait as I am going to enjoy quality time with them. When we are done playing the dishes will still be there.

We could all use a little more relax in our life, because lately all I hear people talk about is all the to-do's they have and sadly not one of them is to enjoy life to the fullest. Sit back and take it all in.

I will not sweat the small stuff, I will not stress or fret over things I do not have control over. I will relax and enjoy the ride and the view ;)
