My Little Pony Tales {review and giveaway}

*Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, all opinions are my own. We received an advance copy of the DVD which facilitated our review.*

We'd like to thank our sponsor for sending us an advance copy of My Little Pony Tales DVD set in exchange for this review, all opinions are 100% my own as well as the story shared on this review.

Growing up I remember all the cartoon shows I enjoyed watching, not only that but these shows also came to life at school. I remember playing Rainbow Brite, She-ra and My Little Pony at the school playground. Everyone would chose a character and pretend they were them. It was fun and a great way to play with my entire class, yes even the boys would join us while they were playing He-Man and G. I. Joe, Star Wars and others.

The 80's seem pretty distant now that we are a grown up generation and have kids of our own. I enjoy sitting down with my kids and watching tv with them, I like to have talks with them while watching the show if something happens on-screen such as asking what they thought was going on and would they do the same in certain situations. It's a great conversation starter on behavior.

Yes, the 80s bring back nostalgia to my generation just as any era brings nostalgia to its own generation. For the 80s it must be the bright colors, the new shows involving more kids that were unique take Rainbow Brite for example she had a little star on her face next to her eye and her friends had all different colored hair and attire.

My Little Pony was a sweet show that shared stories similar to what we were into: sleepovers, sharing scary stories, playing outside, trying to help at home and sometimes feeling left out.  We received an advance copy of My Little Pony Tales: The Complete Classic TV Series. I immediately knew I had to do something special to share a cartoon series I had grown up with, with my kids.

With testing coming up soon for my 9 year old I wanted to be able to spend an evening cuddled up in the living room watching My Little Pony. I prepared some snacks for us and called my kids to the living room and surprised them with the DVD. Our daughter was so excited she couldn't believe we had their show at home, to watch whenever we want to. We enjoyed watching the first DVD in 2 days and then the other DVD in another 2 evenings, yes the set includes 2 DVD's full of episodes such as the:

DISC 1

Slumber party/ Too sick to notice
Battle of the bands/ And the winner is...
Stand by me/ The tea party
The masquerade/ Out of luck
The play's the thing/ Shop talk
Impractical joker/ The great lemonade stand wars
Blue ribbon blues/ roll around the clock

DISC 2

Princess problems/ An apple for starlight
Up, up and away/ Sister of the bride
Birds of a feather/ Send in the clown
Happy birthday, sweetheart/ Gribet

It was great to see episodes I could still remember from my childhood like the Slumber Party one which I vividly remember having one that same week when I saw it as a kid or the Up, Up and Away. We had My Little Pony toys at home and we would sometimes recreate the episodes. Oh the memories!
