Butterfly Jungle 2012

I am pleased to introduce you to our visitor. Megan a.k.a. Mrs. Wonder from Sunshine Wonderland she is a mom who loves taking her son on adventures just as we do. She recently took her son on an adventure that happens once a year. 

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park has a jungle hidden away in the hills of Escondido. Every spring it becomes the best place to see bold colorful butterflies that pose prettily on flowers, leaves and even people's clothes! 

It's been an annual tradition for my family to come see the butterflies. Mrs. Wonder adventure tip: Wear bright clothes and carry a camera when you walk into the "Butterfly Jungle"!

The Butterfly Jungle exhibit is open until Sunday April 15th at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Butterflies are seen other times of the year in the Hidden Jungle exhibit, where Butterfly Jungle is shown annually. You may access the guide to most of the butterfly species at Butterfly Jungle here

Where? What? Wednesdays week 03/23

BUTTERFLY JUNGLE
San Diego Safari Park

This is a wonderful event that happens only once a year. There is a special dome at the Safari Park where butterflies flutter freely and land on flowers, plants, rocks, trees and sometimes even on you! It is a unique experience. Make sure you check the link mentioned above for activities and coloring pages as well as a butterfly photo contest and a video of what to expect!

*Adventure Mom tip: Make sure to wear colorful clothing {no white} and a light flowery or fruity perfume.

Butterfly Jungle

It is the perfect event of the year at the Safari from the San Diego Zoo and next weekend is the last for 2011. It is located in the "hidden jungle" area of the Safari park.

My only suggestion is to wear bright colored clothing so that you will be experience having a butterfly land on you (it is not guaranty but it sure is worth a try) be prepared for the crowds too. Here is a picture of a gorgeous butterfly that landed near us.
