ZOOMARS

Do you remember when you were growing up and visiting a petting zoo? I do, my parents loved connecting with nature and always took us to traveling petting zoo’s around our home.  Well recently we discovered ZOOMARS in San Juan Capistrano, it is a fantastic place to visit with your family or have a birthday party or playdate.

ZOOMARS is a permanent petting zoo, which is conveniently located next to the train stop in San Juan Capistrano. They have a great variety of animals to get up close and personal with.

Our kids ages 6 and 2 loved visiting ZOOMARS, we were there for almost the entire day enjoying all they have to offer. From riding a train {my son’s favorite} to gold panning {my daughter’s favorite} to cuddling with guinea pigs and rabbits {the most fun and relaxing} we also got to pet goats, ponies, see a zedonk {in case you’ve never seen one it is the combination of a donkey and a zebra}, llamas, pigs, chickens, emu {love this bird} and the beautiful pheasants.

As you can see we had lots of fun at ZOOMARS!

It is now Spring in Southern California and when I think of Spring I automatically think of reconnecting with nature and that is what ZOOMARS is all about! They also are hosting several special events to celebrate Spring!

On Saturday April 7th they will be hosting a Bunny Brunch in which you will get to enjoy old fashioned pancakes for breakfast with my favorite side: sausage. This event will also have photographer Lauren Johnson taking FREE pictures with Peter Cottontail. How adorable is that? For more detailed information on this special event click here

ZOOMARS is open daily {weather permitting} from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Admission is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for children 12 and under as well as seniors. Children 12 months and under are FREE. Additional activities such as riding a pony, train ride and feeding animals are available for a small fee.

There is also the option of a Golden Ticket $22.00 which includes admission, pony ride, train ride, animal feed basket and mining activity. That is a savings of $7.00!

For more information please visit ZOOMARS and don’t forget to visit their Facebook page here and make sure you follow them on Twitter they are always posting pictures of the animals and updating on events.

  1. We've been wanting to visit Zoomars for a while now with our 2.5 year old. He loves pony rides and all animals in general :). We might go today, it's a bit of a drive from Long Beach, but I know it'll be worth it!
