Participate in the Museum's monthly Family Sunday, which includes a discount on admission. On the third Sunday of each month children and families can explore the museum's colorful exhibitions of folk art, craft and design, create a hands-on art project and win a prize for completing a treasure hunt!
Take Dad to Family Sunday on Father's Day and make a day out with the family special! To celebrate the new exhibit Hats & Headdresses, The Village Hat Shop team will provide plain hats for visitors to customize and decorate. Family Sunday admission is $5.00/family or $3.00/individual and is from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
So many free days seem to be on Sundays- we try and keep Sunday a church/family day. Still sounds like a great place though
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun event that takes place every third Sunday of the month, because they know that is the day that families spend the day together. Free days for Balboa Park Museums {including Mingei} are on Tuesdays {rotating} and are only for San Diego County residents. I am working on a post regarding FREE Museum Tuesday. More details to come. :)
DeleteI have been to this museum before with some of my friends. It was fun and I was surprised I enjoyed it when I don't really like museums. With this new discount they got going, I am certainly gonna come back with kids in tow.
ReplyDeleteThis Museum is perfect for any age and there is so much to do while visiting it. The Media room allows guests of any age to learn about art, crafts and design in a fun way. They have books to show about different types of design.
