Springtime in NoCal

Have you noticed how Spring is slowly making an entrance? Preparing us for colors, changes and warm weather. Here in Northern California I'm in awe every single morning as I see a new flower bloom. A new plant sprout and days getting a bit longer. I remember in San Diego I would feel a nice cool breeze from the Ocean and you knew Spring was there already.

Last year I shared about how our garden was getting colorful, this year I am sharing flowers, trees and plants from around Northern California. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Where we live there are many Japanese plants, trees and flowers. It is actually considered sister cities with Toyokawa Japan.

What does Spring look like where you live? Are there flowers blooming everywhere?

...And it was past 7!

Daylight Savings Time got me!

Did it get you?

It was a little darker than usual, no loud garbage collection truck at the crack of dawn outside my window to wake me up... and before I knew it

BAM!

It was already past 7 a.m.

Quick, get up... get ready for the day and make breakfast for the family -those were my only thoughts.

Oh wait, the kids are asleep still, that's unusual so what did I do? I got to enjoy a couple of minutes just chatting with Adventure Dad. That totally made my day, getting a few minutes to just wake up and chat.

Our day started a bit rough, Adventure Boy woke up and was a bit upset anything and everything would become a battle ending in tears. Adventure Girl was the last one to wake up and she was also a bit moody. What started as a good day slowly began going downhill and now as I sit here writing the kids are outside enjoying a picnic of snacks. They are smiling and dreaming of Spring, warmer weather and noticing the signs of Spring.

Hopefully tomorrow will be much easier on us and we can have a few minutes to just enjoy the sunrise, the quiet and stillness of our home.

Spring is Here

Spring has sprung! with all this rain lately in Southern California my garden is in full bloom. We can hear the birds chirping and even though today is a little bit cold {we have a frost advisory until 9:00 a.m.} you can see butterflies fluttering by.

This means that summer is around the corner but for now I'm enjoying Spring. I have even taken advantage and began my spring cleaning, yesterday adventure girl and I went through all her toy bins and organized into 3 different sections: keep, donate and hand me downs.

Today I feel cheery and have a big smile on my face, adventure girl had been counting the days that led up to today. She is very excited too.

I'd love to share some pictures from our garden. You will see how colorful it is!

This Spring is sure to be busy for us, we are preparing our family to relocate to Northern California. We are excited, happy and at the same time nervous and anxious for this epic change. Why is this major for us? well we have lived for 12 years in San Diego and it is where our family began, grew and loves to call home. Even though we are moving it will always be home to us. We are sure to miss the view of the Pacific Ocean everyday! palm trees lining up the streets.

So here's to new beginnings! which is what is Spring is all about!
