San Diego entertainment for the weekend of 10/07 -10/09

Scarecrow Contest

Register and bring in your scarecrow to compete, there will also be live entertainment from VCHS Jazz and Marching Bands as well as face painting, rock climbing and of course kettle corn and bbq will also be sold.

Festa -Italian Cultural Festival

Our picks for Labor Day weekend Events

FESTIVAL OF SAIL
Maritime Museum of San Diego
1492 N. Harbor Dr.


This event kicks off with a Parade of Tall ships on Thursday 09/01 at noon, to view the parade the best spots are Shelter Island, Harbor Island and Cabrillo National Monument. This parade includes vessels up to 150 ft long! From Friday 09/02 through Monday 09/05 you will be able to board ships and explore them as well as get the opportunity to talk with crews and enjoy live entertainment. There is also a tall ship cannon battle! You can view these from the San Diego Bay. This event only happens every 3 years so we highly suggest you visit....

The Padres will host the Colorado Rockies over the weekend... take them out to the ball game! Plus Friday there will be Fireworks and Saturday's  Go Green Night giveaway is a Green bag and Sunday is kids day with a FREE gumball Padres machine.

It's the last San Diego Symphony Summer 2011 concert and it is ending with none other than Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture! This while cannon battles taking place on the bay!

Favorite events this weekend.

This weekend is 4th of July and there are lots of events to choose from, but the best one is as always having a family BBQ and cuddling on a blanket to see the fireworks along the beaches in San Diego! :)

Cinderella

Before the clock strikes midnight you must return home or the spell will be broken... the Fairygodmother told Cinderella...  From serving her stepmother and stepsisters to a Royal Ball and a Princess. The story will be told with hand and rod puppets plus marionettes.

This weekend is the first weekend of the month, which means Birch Aquarium, The New Children's Museum and the Museum of Photographic Arts are open FREE to Bank of America Cardholders.

If you are like me a Zydeco and Cajun fan then this festival is for you! authentic Creole food, dancing, parades and 8,000 lbs of craw fish! yum! This event was announced last weekend on 88.3 FM from the City College (one of our favorite radio stations!).
