Toddler Tuesday week 05/22

We are getting into the habit of taking walks around our neighborhood in the morning and walk observing nature. Sometimes we see bumble bees, butterflies and others we see squirrels and beautiful birds. What we do see every single time is beautiful flowers that are so fragrant.

Lately our toddler has been intrigued and enjoying the anti-slipping floor mat that is setup on the bridge near our home. It is for when it rains, but he thinks it is for massaging his feet. Today was no exception! He also made a new friend... This lovely cat followed us around and then walked near Adventure Boy and he happily complied to his requests to be petted. It was so cute!

Toddler Tuesday week 04/17

It's always interesting to see how toddlers have little pet peeves, even at such a young age. Take our toddler for example who will only take one bite out of his chicken nuggets! yes, only one bite and then will take another new un-bitten nugget to eat. I share with you the picture above as an example of this. The same happens for toast, pizza and any other finger foods. Only one bite and then on to the next, so when possible we cut up into bite size squares his food. It is one of the only ways to solve this...

Do you have any suggestions on how to handle this? Please feel free to share with us on the comments section.

Toddler Tuesdays week 04/03

It's fascinating to watch as a toddler explores his new surroundings, we recently moved after living in the same home for 8 years. Both our kids were born in the home we left behind, both sets of grandparents were always a quick one hour trip away. We are now an 8 hour drive away or a 90 minute flight away. Of course it is different at our new home. We lived in a 4 bedroom house with a backyard that had our swing set and outdoor toys. We are now in an apartment it is completely different and new to us, specially for our kids. However the kids had new friends from the day we moved in and our toddler is enjoying the trees that sway to the beat of the wind.

It is in these moments when we realize how much he is growing. As his older sister always says: "mommy wouldn't you like to freeze brother so he could stay cuddly forever?" {yes I do get teary eyed with that comment} and you know what I would love to freeze both my kids to stay this age forever, but I also understand that they need to grow, explore their world and enjoy life to the fullest.

How do you feel when you see your toddler explore the world?

Toddler Tuesdays week 02/14

Our toddler is becoming more and more interested in technology. This week he has been reaching for his sister's DS to play with it and surprisingly to me he has learned to take pictures and choose the game he would like use. He is starting to enjoy coloring even though it is just scribbles and dots that he makes with either the crayon or marker.

What has your toddler been up to this week?

Toddler Tuesdays week 02/07

Independence and freedom is what every toddler desires and this day, this very day that we visited the San Diego's Zoo Polar Bear Plunge our toddler enjoyed roaming the exhibit out and about. Not worrying for his stroller. He enjoyed running around with other kids of course until he had to get back in the stroller to get back to the other side of the zoo.

How does your toddler enjoy freedom and independence?

There he is, waiting patiently in his stroller! Yes our little toddler is in his stroller a lot. He was actually the inspiration to our blog name, you see when you have 2 kids under the age of 7 it is easier to use the stroller than separate towards 2 differents directions at the same time. This past weekend we were out on adventures and on one of them it was just the kids and I, one would want to go one way and the other in the opposite direction. My oh my, how I wished I could split into 2 to chase around our little toddler and our explorer.

What has your toddler been up to these days? How do you take outings with your kids? do you use a stroller?

Toddler Tuesdays week 11/29

In two weeks our little boy will be officially 2 years old! he feels very independent and loves it! Today I noticed a change in his face, he looks more mature and is loosing his baby features :( I am certain I will miss this stage soon, but am also ready for the next stage... potty training?
We took him on his first flight over the weekend and let me tell you we were surprised at how well he behaved! this is him taking a little walk at the airport.

Toddler Tuesday week 11/22

They learn quick! yes our toddler who in less than a month will be 2, has quickly learned this year to flip through toy catalogs and point to what he wants. I guess you can say he learned from the master: our 6 year old.

What is your toddler up to these days? Share your story or pictures with us.

This week our toddler had fun with a neighbor's cat that was wondering in our backyard and when they say each other they began to play! They played for a good 20 minutes.

Toddler Tuesdays 11/08

On this episode of Toddler Tuesdays, I find it very interesting how at such a young age toddlers love to "hide" things. At the end of the each day we put all the toys away before bedtime, last night I found an entire zoo underneath our toddler's crib!

Toddler Tuesdays -Eggs-

Every Tuesday we will share our adventure in parenting a toddler. Now our toddler will be 2 years old in December and is very curious and loves to explore his surroundings.

On this episode of Toddler Tuesdays... EGGS!

Last weekend, as usual I did my grocery run and shopped for ingredients I would need and incorporate into this week's recipes. I also bought our basic staples for breakfast: eggs, wheat bread, milk, juice, fruit and more. We -the kids and I- arrived home to begin preparing dinner before my husband arrived from a long workday. Shuffleing through the kitchen pantry, refrigerator, freezer.

Went to help older child with a project she was working on and all of the sudden we hear *splat* followed by: "ooh no!" from our toddler. Ran to the kitchen and this is what I found:

Our newly bought and placed in the refrigerator 18 egg carton was more than half empty with 2 eggs in a shelf in the refrigerator and the kitchen floor? well let's just say I used up almost 1/4 of a paper towel roll plus 5 kitchen towels! then moped the floor and it still smelled like egg in the kitchen so I used some vinegar mixed into our floor cleaner... I have to say at first I was amused at how this little boy had managed to open our refrigerator doors with locks! yes safety locks to prevent this from happening and then I was upset with the manufacturer for not making them harder for curious boys like ours to open doors.

After a couple of hours I just had to laugh, so again we went to the store to get a new carton of eggs and the upside of this story is we got to see an amazing sunset driving back home and of course 2 grining kids as we were on the road. :D

What has your toddler done lately that made you just stop and think: "how did he do that?"
